ContextBridge Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 16, 2026

ContextBridge exports visible and currently loaded messages from supported AI conversation pages. The extension processes the chosen conversation locally in the user's browser.

Information handled

After the user clicks “Extract conversation,” ContextBridge temporarily processes the visible conversation text, message roles, page title, hostname, and conversation URL. Conversation content may include personal communications or other information the user has chosen to place in the conversation.

How information is used

The information is used only to preview, format, copy, and download the export requested by the user. ContextBridge has no backend, account system, analytics, advertising, tracking, or external network request. The developer does not receive conversation content.

Sharing and sale

ContextBridge does not sell, rent, share, or transfer conversation content or browsing information to third parties. It does not use data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes. The developer and other humans cannot access conversation content through the extension.

Storage, retention, and deletion

The extracted conversation exists only in the popup's temporary memory and is cleared when the popup closes. Downloads and clipboard contents are created only at the user's request and remain under the user's control. Users can delete downloaded files or replace clipboard contents through their operating system.

Permissions

activeTab grants temporary access only to the tab where the user invokes ContextBridge. scripting runs the extension's packaged local extractor after the user clicks the extraction button. ContextBridge does not request persistent access to every website and uses no remote code.

Sensitive information

A local pattern check can warn about apparent email addresses, phone numbers, API-key-like strings, or Bearer tokens before export. ContextBridge does not automatically modify the user's text.

Limited Use disclosure

ContextBridge's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Access is limited to providing and improving the extension's single user-facing purpose.

Changes

Material policy changes will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
